📝 Ingredients (Serves 3–4)

For the chicken

  • 500 g boneless chicken (breast or thighs), cut into bite-size pieces

  • 2 tbsp cornstarch

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp paprika (optional)

  • 2 tbsp oil (olive or vegetable)

For the mushrooms

  • 1½ cups mushrooms, sliced (button or cremini)

For the honey garlic sauce

  • ⅓ cup honey

  • ¼ cup soy sauce

  • 4–5 garlic cloves, finely minced

  • 1 tbsp ketchup or chili sauce

  • 1 tbsp vinegar or lemon juice

  • ½ tsp dried oregano or Italian seasoning

  • ½ tsp chili flakes (optional)

Optional garnish

  • Sesame seeds

  • Fresh parsley or green onions

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prepare the chicken

In a bowl, add chicken pieces, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Toss well until chicken is evenly coated. This helps create a crispy outer layer.

2. Cook the chicken

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the chicken in a single layer and cook for 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
Remove chicken from the pan and set aside.

3. Sauté mushrooms

In the same skillet, add sliced mushrooms.
Cook for 3–4 minutes until they release moisture and turn golden.

4. Make the sauce

Lower heat to medium.
Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Pour in honey, soy sauce, ketchup, vinegar, oregano, and chili flakes.
Stir well and let the sauce simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thick.

5. Combine

Add the cooked chicken back to the skillet.
Toss everything together so the chicken and mushrooms are fully coated in the sauce.
Simmer for another 2–3 minutes until glossy and sticky.

6. Garnish & serve

Sprinkle with sesame seeds or fresh herbs if desired.
Serve hot.
