Broccoli and Mushroom Stir Fry Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb broccoli florets

  • 10 oz sliced mushrooms

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

  • 2 tsp sesame oil

  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

  • 2 tbsp cooking oil

  • Salt and pepper, to taste


Instructions

  1. Make the sauce:
    In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, sugar, red pepper flakes, and cornstarch. Set aside.

  2. Heat the pan:
    Add 2 tbsp cooking oil to a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat.

  3. Sauté garlic:
    Add minced garlic and cook for 20–30 seconds until fragrant.

  4. Cook mushrooms:
    Add mushrooms and cook 3–4 minutes until they start to brown and soften.

  5. Add broccoli:
    Add broccoli florets and stir fry for 3–5 minutes until tender-crisp.
    (Add 2–3 tbsp water and cover for 1 minute if you want softer broccoli.)

  6. Add sauce:
    Pour in the prepared sauce and toss well. Cook 1–2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the vegetables.

  7. Season:
    Add salt and pepper to taste.

  8. Serve:
    Enjoy hot over steamed rice, noodles, or as a side dish.
