Bacon-Wrapped Asparagus

4 people (or 2 very motivated people)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) asparagus, woody ends trimmed

  • 8–12 slices bacon (thin-cut works best)

  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil (optional)

  • Freshly ground black pepper

  • Optional extras:

    • Garlic powder or minced garlic

    • Parmesan cheese

    • Lemon zest

    • Balsamic glaze or honey drizzle


Instructions (Oven Method – Easiest)

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F / 200°C.
    Line a baking sheet with parchment or foil (trust me, cleanup matters).

  2. Prep asparagus
    Toss lightly with olive oil and a pinch of pepper. Skip salt—bacon’s got you.

  3. Bundle & wrap

    • Group 3–5 asparagus spears together.

    • Wrap 1 slice of bacon tightly around each bundle, slightly overlapping.

    • Place seam-side down on the baking sheet.

  4. Bake

    • Bake for 20–25 minutes, flipping once halfway,

    • Until bacon is crispy and asparagus is tender.

  5. Optional crisp boost
    Broil for 1–2 minutes at the end if you want extra crunch (watch closely!).


Optional Finishes (Highly Recommended)

  • Sprinkle Parmesan right after baking

  • Add lemon zest for brightness

  • Drizzle with balsamic glaze or hot honey

  • Crack more black pepper on top


Air Fryer Version

  • 375°F / 190°C for 10–12 minutes, turning once

  • Cook in batches so bacon actually crisps
