Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Thighs Recipe
Ingredients (for 4 pieces):
-
4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
-
2 tbsp olive oil
-
1 tsp paprika
-
1 tsp garlic powder
-
1 tsp onion powder
-
1 tsp dried oregano
-
½ tsp black pepper
-
½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
-
½ tsp chili powder or cayenne (optional, for a little heat)
-
1 lemon, cut into wedges
Instructions:
-
Prep the chicken:
Pat the chicken thighs dry with a paper towel. This helps the skin crisp up nicely. -
Season:
In a small bowl, mix paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, pepper, and chili powder. Rub olive oil all over the chicken, then coat evenly with the spice mix. -
Preheat the air fryer:
Set air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and preheat for 5 minutes. -
Cook:
Place chicken thighs in the air fryer basket, skin side up. Make sure they aren’t touching for even cooking. Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 18–22 minutes, flipping halfway through if needed, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the skin is crispy and golden. -
Serve:
Squeeze fresh lemon wedges over the chicken before serving. Pair with salad, roasted veggies, or rice.
✅ Tips for extra crispiness:
-
Don’t overcrowd the basket.
-
Pat chicken completely dry before seasoning.
-
Optional: Spray a tiny bit of cooking spray on the skin before air frying.
