🥩 Garlic Herb Beef & Potato Foil Packets

🧾 Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 1½ lb (700 g) beef steak or stew beef (sirloin, chuck, or round), cut into large chunks

  • 1½ lb (700 g) baby potatoes, halved

  • 4 tbsp butter, cut into cubes

  • 3 tbsp olive oil

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp salt (or to taste)

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1 tsp dried thyme or rosemary

  • ½ tsp dried oregano

  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)


🔥 Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat

  • Oven: 200°C / 400°F

  • Prepare 4 large sheets of heavy-duty aluminum foil


2️⃣ Season the Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, combine:

    • Beef chunks

    • Potatoes

    • Olive oil

    • Garlic

    • Salt, pepper, paprika, thyme, and oregano

  • Toss well until everything is evenly coated


3️⃣ Assemble the Foil Packets

  • Divide the mixture evenly among foil sheets

  • Place beef in the center with potatoes around it

  • Top each packet with 1 tbsp butter


4️⃣ Seal the Packets

  • Bring foil edges together and seal tightly

  • Leave a little space inside for steam


5️⃣ Bake

  • Place packets on a baking tray

  • Bake for 35–40 minutes

  • For extra browning, open foil and broil for 3–5 minutes (optional)


6️⃣ Serve

  • Carefully open packets (hot steam!)

  • Sprinkle with fresh parsley

  • Serve straight from foil or transfer to plates

  • Potatoes: soft, buttery, and infused with beef juices

  • Sauce: rich, garlicky, and herby
