Cheesy Beef Stuffed Bread Roll
Ingredients
For the dough
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp sugar
2¼ tsp instant yeast (1 packet)
1 cup warm milk (or water)
2 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
For the filling
500 g (1 lb) ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
½ tsp cumin (optional but great)
2 tbsp chopped parsley
For topping
1½–2 cups shredded mozzarella (or mozzarella + cheddar)
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Extra parsley for garnish
Instructions
1. Make the dough
In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
Add flour, salt, and oil. Knead until soft and elastic (8–10 minutes).
Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, until doubled.
2. Prepare the filling
In a bowl, mix ground beef, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, cumin, and parsley.
Don’t cook it first—the beef cooks inside the dough and stays juicy.
3. Assemble
Roll the dough into a large rectangle (about ¼ inch thick).
Spread the raw beef mixture evenly over the dough, pressing lightly.
Roll tightly from the long side into a log, like a jelly roll.
Place seam-side down on a lined baking tray.
4. Bake
Brush with beaten egg.
Bake at 180°C / 350°F for 30–35 minutes, until golden and cooked through.
5. Add cheese
Remove from oven, sprinkle generously with shredded cheese.
Return to oven for 8–10 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
6. Finish & serve
Sprinkle with parsley
Slice and serve hot while the cheese is stretchy 🔥🧀
