Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Thighs Recipe

Ingredients (for 4 pieces):

  • 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp dried oregano

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)

  • ½ tsp chili powder or cayenne (optional, for a little heat)

  • 1 lemon, cut into wedges


Instructions:

  1. Prep the chicken:
    Pat the chicken thighs dry with a paper towel. This helps the skin crisp up nicely.

  2. Season:
    In a small bowl, mix paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, pepper, and chili powder. Rub olive oil all over the chicken, then coat evenly with the spice mix.

  3. Preheat the air fryer:
    Set air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and preheat for 5 minutes.

  4. Cook:
    Place chicken thighs in the air fryer basket, skin side up. Make sure they aren’t touching for even cooking. Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 18–22 minutes, flipping halfway through if needed, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the skin is crispy and golden.

  5. Serve:
    Squeeze fresh lemon wedges over the chicken before serving. Pair with salad, roasted veggies, or rice.

  • Don’t overcrowd the basket.

  • Pat chicken completely dry before seasoning.

  • Optional: Spray a tiny bit of cooking spray on the skin before air frying.
