Ingredients (Serves 3–4)
For the Beef
500 g beef (sirloin, flank, or boneless beef cubes/strips)
2 tbsp oil (olive or vegetable)
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
For the Onions
2 large onions (thinly sliced)
1 tbsp oil
1 tbsp butter (optional, for richness)
For the Sauce
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional but recommended)
1 tsp vinegar or lemon juice
½ tsp sugar or honey
½ tsp crushed black pepper
½ tsp chili flakes (optional)
3–4 tbsp water or beef stock

Instructions
1. Prepare the Beef
Cut beef into bite-size cubes or thin strips.
Pat dry with paper towel.
Season lightly with salt and black pepper.
Rest for 10 minutes at room temperature.
2. Sear the Beef
Heat a large pan or skillet over medium-high heat.
Add 2 tbsp oil.
Add beef in a single layer (cook in batches if needed).
Sear for 2–3 minutes per side until browned.
Remove beef and set aside.
3. Caramelize the Onions
In the same pan, add oil and butter.
Add sliced onions.
Cook on medium heat for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until soft, golden, and lightly caramelized.
4. Prepare the Sauce
In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, oyster sauce, vinegar, sugar, pepper, chili flakes, and water/stock.
5. Combine & Simmer
Return beef to the pan with onions.
Pour sauce over the mixture.
Stir well and cook on low-medium heat for 5–7 minutes until beef is tender and sauce thickens slightly.
6. Finish & Serve
Taste and adjust seasoning.
Garnish with parsley, green onions, or sesame seeds.
