Meaty Cabbage Soup Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • ½ head green cabbage, chopped

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 can diced tomatoes (14–15 oz)

  • 4 cups beef broth

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • Optional: 1 tsp paprika, 1 tsp Italian seasoning, 1 bay leaf, chili flakes for heat


Instructions

1. Brown the Beef

  • In a large pot, cook the ground beef over medium heat.

  • Break it apart and cook until browned.

  • Drain excess fat if needed.

2. Add Aromatics

  • Add diced onion and minced garlic.

  • Sauté for 2–3 minutes until softened and fragrant.

3. Add Tomatoes & Broth

  • Pour in the canned diced tomatoes (with juices).

  • Add 4 cups beef broth.

  • Stir.

4. Add Cabbage

  • Add the chopped cabbage.

  • Season with salt, pepper, and any optional spices.

  • Bring to a boil.

5. Simmer

  • Reduce heat and simmer 20–25 minutes, until cabbage is tender and flavors blend.

6. Taste & Adjust

  • Add more salt, pepper, or spices as needed.


Serving

Serve hot with:

  • A squeeze of lemon

  • Fresh parsley

  • Crusty bread (optional)
