Ingredients
For the Dough (Deep Dish Style)

3 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) instant yeast

1 tbsp sugar

1 tsp salt

¼ cup olive oil (plus extra for greasing)

1 ¼ cups warm water
For the Meat Filling

1 lb ground beef

½ lb Italian sausage (optional for extra flavor)

1 small onion, finely chopped

1 green bell pepper, diced

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 tsp Italian seasoning

For the Sauce

1 ½ cups pizza sauce (store-bought or homemade)

For the Toppings

2 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (for richness)

Instructions

Make the Dough

In a large bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.

Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

Knead on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour (until doubled).

Cook the Meat Filling

Heat a skillet, add ground beef and sausage. Cook until browned.

Add onion, garlic, bell pepper, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt & pepper.

Cook until softened and well combined. Drain excess fat and set aside.

Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).

Grease a deep 9-inch springform pan or cast-iron skillet.

Roll out dough to fit pan, with edges coming up the sides.

Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce at the base.

Add another light layer of sauce over the meat.

Cover with the rest of the mozzarella + cheddar.
