Garlic Sautéed Broccoli (Quick & Healthy)

Ingredients

  • 4 cups broccoli florets (fresh)

  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • ¼ tsp salt (or to taste)

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • 1–2 tbsp water or vegetable broth

  • Optional: lemon juice, red pepper flakes, parmesan


Instructions

  1. Prep the broccoli
    Wash and cut into bite-sized florets. Peel and slice thick stems if using.

  2. Steam-sauté
    Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
    Add broccoli and water. Cover and cook 3–4 minutes until bright green and just tender.

  3. Add garlic
    Uncover, add garlic, salt, and pepper.
    Sauté 1–2 minutes, stirring often (don’t burn the garlic).

  4. Finish
    Remove from heat. Add a squeeze of lemon juice if desired.


Serving Ideas

  • Sprinkle with parmesan 🧀

  • Toss with soy sauce & sesame oil for an Asian twist

  • Add chili flakes for heat 🌶️

  • Finish with toasted almonds or pine nuts


Alternative Methods

  • Steamed: 5–6 minutes, finish with butter & salt

  • Roasted: 425°F (220°C), 18–22 minutes with olive oil

  • Air fryer: 375°F, 8–10 minutes
