Air Fryer Poached Eggs (Ramekin Method)
What You’ll Need
-
4 large eggs
-
4 oven-safe ramekins (ceramic or glass)
-
Hot water
-
Nonstick spray or a little oil
-
Salt & black pepper (to taste)
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Preheat the air fryer
-
Set to 350°F / 175°C
-
Preheat for 3–5 minutes
2. Prepare the ramekins
-
Lightly grease each ramekin with oil or nonstick spray
-
This prevents sticking and helps with easy release
3. Add eggs + water
-
Crack 1 egg into each ramekin
-
Carefully pour 2–3 tablespoons of hot water into each ramekin
-
The water helps steam the egg and gives that poached texture
-
Don’t fully submerge the egg
-
4. Air fry
-
Place ramekins in the air fryer basket
-
Cook at 350°F (175°C) for:
-
6–7 minutes → runny yolk
-
8–9 minutes → jammy yolk
-
10–11 minutes → fully set yolk
-
(Times may vary slightly by air fryer model—check once the whites are set.)
5. Remove & season
-
Carefully lift out ramekins (they’ll be hot!)
-
Use a spoon to gently loosen the eggs
-
Slide onto a plate
-
Sprinkle with salt and freshly cracked black pepper
Texture You’ll Get
-
Soft, tender whites
-
Creamy, flowing yolk
-
No rubbery edges, no vinegar smell
Serving Ideas
-
On toast or sourdough
-
Over avocado toast
-
With smoked salmon
-
On breakfast bowls
-
With a drizzle of olive oil or chili crisp
Pro Tips
-
Use fresh eggs for best shape
-
If whites look loose at 6 minutes, cook in 30-second increments
-
Don’t overcrowd—air needs to circulate
-
If you want classic round shape, strain watery egg whites before cooking
