Garlic Mushrooms and Broccoli!

🥦 Garlic Mushrooms and Broccoli 🍄

✅ Ingredients:

  • 1 head of broccoli, cut into florets

  • 200–250g (7–9 oz) button or cremini mushrooms, sliced

  • 3–4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Optional: a splash of soy sauce or lemon juice, red pepper flakes, or grated Parmesan cheese

🔪 Instructions:

  1. Steam or Blanch the Broccoli

    • Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add broccoli florets and cook for 2–3 minutes, until just tender and bright green.

    • Drain and set aside (or plunge into cold water to stop cooking if you want it extra crisp).

  2. Sauté the Mushrooms

    • Heat 1 tbsp of olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

    • Add the mushrooms and cook for 5–6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they release moisture and become golden brown.

  3. Add Garlic and Broccoli

    • Add another tbsp of oil or butter if needed.

    • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30–60 seconds, until fragrant (don’t let it burn).

    • Add the cooked broccoli and sauté everything together for 2–3 minutes.

  4. Season & Serve

    • Season with salt, pepper, and optional soy sauce or lemon juice for a tangy kick.

    • Sprinkle with Parmesan or chili flakes if desired.

🍽️ Serving Ideas:

  • Serve as a side dish with grilled chicken, tofu, or salmon.

  • Toss with pasta or rice for a quick meal.

  • Add to an omelet or frittata for breakfast.
