🍲 Old Fashioned Goulash (American Style)
✅ Ingredients:
1 lb (450g) ground beef
1 onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, with juice
2 cups beef broth or water
1½ cups elbow macaroni, uncooked
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1 tsp paprika
Salt & pepper, to taste
Optional: 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (for cheesy goulash)
Optional: Fresh parsley or green onions for garnish
👩🍳 Instructions:
Brown the Beef
In a large skillet or pot over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.Add Aromatics
Add the diced onion and garlic to the beef. Cook for 3–4 minutes until softened and fragrant.Add Tomatoes & Seasoning
Stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes (with juice), Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper.Add Broth and Pasta
Pour in the beef broth and uncooked elbow macaroni. Stir well.Simmer
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.Optional – Make It Cheesy
Stir in shredded cheddar cheese just before serving for a creamy, cheesy version.Garnish & Serve
Sprinkle with parsley or green onions. Serve hot and enjoy!
