  • 2 cans refrigerated biscuit dough (Grands-style or similar)

  • 12–16 oz sliced ham (thinly sliced)

  • 2 cups shredded cheese
(Swiss, mozzarella, provolone, or a blend)

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

Buttery Topping

  • 4 tbsp butter, melted

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan

  • Optional: chopped parsley

🔪 Prep

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Line or grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prepare biscuit layers

  • Cut each biscuit into halves or quarters

  • Press half of them evenly into the bottom of the dish

  • Slightly flatten to cover the base

2. Add ham & cheese

Layer in this order:

  1. Half of the ham

  2. Half of the cheese

  3. Remaining ham

  4. Remaining cheese

3. Top with biscuits

Place remaining biscuit pieces over the top, slightly overlapping to form a slab.

4. Mix cream custard

In a bowl, whisk:

  • Heavy cream

  • Eggs

  • Salt

  • Pepper

Slowly pour evenly over the casserole — let it seep down into the layers.

5. Make buttery topping

Mix together:

  • Melted butter

  • Garlic powder

  • Italian seasoning

  • Parmesan

Brush generously over the biscuit tops.

6. Bake

Cover loosely with foil and bake 20 minutes.
Remove foil and bake another 10–15 minutes, until:

  • Top is golden brown

  • Cheese is bubbling

  • Biscuits are fully cooked inside

7. Rest & slice

Let rest 5–10 minutes before cutting into squares.
